Is this going overboard? Im not thrilled with everything about Trump, nor was I thrilled about everything Obama did, but was this an honest democratic election, or not?

http://nymag.com/thecut/2016/1......html

In the wake of Trump’s “locker-room talk” scandal — which feels like years ago, doesn’t it? — technology-and-media-marketing specialist Shannon Coulter created the hashtag #GrabYourWallet to encourage consumers to boycott businesses that carry Ivanka Trump’s clothing and accessories lines. And now that a Trump administration is imminent, Coulter and others are encouraging critics of the president-elect to put their money where their mouths are.

An updated spreadsheet has been circulating on Twitter listing the retailers that do business with the Trump family, along with contact information their customer-relations departments. These include major retailers like Amazon, Macy’s, Marshalls, Neiman Marcus, Nordstrom, Bloomingdale’s, and Lord and Taylor, all of which carry the Ivanka Trump collection.

The spreadsheet also lists other companies to consider boycotting, including People magazine, which has been active in normalizing the Trump family despite the fact that the president-elect allegedly s-xually assaulted one of its writers, and New Balance, which has expressed public support for Trump.

#GrabYourWallet saw its first victory a few days ago, when Shoes.com became the first retailer to dump Trump products as a result of the boycott.

I think Macy's has already announced it will no longer carry Trump merchandise. I could be wrong.

Boycotting products IMHO, is a legitimate form of protest, BDS included (actually BDS has been quite helpful in drawing up lists, so I know what Israeli products to go buy!) As a consumer I can honestly say that I "vote with my wallet" as much as the next person.

If President Obama had his name attached to merchandise, you can be SURE that the media would be screaming about racism, financial institutionalized discrimination, and white privilege. "If you didn't vote for Obama, it's because you hate Black people - and if you don't buy his stuff, you really hate Black people!"

Personally, I have always gone out of my way to support minority owned businesses, because that's my form of creating equality and independence for hard working people. I don't buy the New York Times, even though most of it's writers are Jewish, because I don't support the things they say about religious Jews and about Israel. I guess you could call that a boycott if you want, but I don't really think about it in such concrete terms, and I don't tell all my friends what I think they should or shouldn't buy.

You are correct. They dumped his menswear line when he declared his candidacy. Trump responded, "“I think they were disloyal to the country. Because you know, when you think about it, what am I doing? I’m talking about illegal immigration, I’m talking about a lot of good things for the country … and it’s amazing because from the time that we didn’t make this deal, their stock went down."

Because its un-American not to sell a line of cheap suits made in Indonesia, Mexico and China.

They dumped the rest more recently.

Some people love boycotts. Me, not so much. I'm not going to stop shopping at TJ Maxx because they tend to have a lot of Ivanka Trump merchandise. OTOH, I won't buy Trump merchandise. Certainly not until a genuine blind trust is in place.

Funny, when consumers don't want a product, the store stops stocking it. It's called - wait for it - supply and demand CAPITALISM! Don't you just love it when it works both ways? LOL

Much of this is with the support of George Soros, a billionaire and huge Clinton supporter. He is financing a revolution. Only G-d knows how he's suffering financially and otherwise by the Clinton loss.

“The gatherings—organized by Moveon.org and its allies—will affirm a continued rejection of Trump’s bigotry, xenophobia, Islamophobia, and misogyny and demonstrate our resolve to fight for an America we still believe is possible,” the release said.

After the protests got going around the country, reports began to appear of protesters admitting they had been paid to go and of ads on Craigslist in various cities advertising for protesters.

Nanna said she has never been contacted by MoveOn.org, is not paid for what she does for Not My President, and doesn’t know of any organizers who are paid.

MoveOn.org is one of a large stable of organizations that the billionaire political activist George Soros funds, according to Discover the Networks.

Other organizations known to have taken part in the protests are Black Lives Matter, the immigrant organization United We Dream, the ACLU, the Revolutionary Communist Party USA, the Socialist Workers Party, and ANSWER (an anti-war, anti-racism organization that critics say is a communist front group). Black Lives Matter, United We Dream, and the ACLU are all known to receive funding from Soros.
