One example of malum in se is fraud, Such as that committed by Trump through Trump University. In a $25 million dollar settlement, he has agreed to pay up to $1m to the state of NY for violation of education laws. Restitution is to be made to the victims of the fraud.

Of course illegal immigration is a problem. Why is this even a question?
Just look at the security issues: If anyone can sneak across the border, we could allow drug-lords to seed the country with criminals, or terrorists from other countries could use our porous border with Mexico as a way to infiltrate our country. There is no vetting, no control.
The economic consequences are also staggering, esp since many states now allow free schooling for illegal immigrants, at taxpayer expense.

It isn't a question. Even liberals accept that it is a situation that needs to be dealt with.
It's the rhetoric and identity politics that I'm hearing now that is giving me pause.
