We watched "the proposal" last night and loved it!! Any other suggestions?? Or movies that aren't specifically about romance but have romance going on throughout. As in, whoever watched castle, and whoever is watching Lucifer, I know those are tv shows, but that idea. Main theme is not romance,, but romance going on. Thx!!

How to Lose a Guy in Ten Days is similar to The Proposal, and also very funny.

The Prince and Me is not action per se, but a very different kind of comedy than the typical. My husband really enjoyed that one. (So did I.)

Sabrina (the remake is my favorite romantic comedy of all time, but it's a "smarter" type of comedy)
Big Daddy is hysterical, more comedy than romance, but enough romance
Last Holiday with Queen Latifah (remake)
Father of the Bride (both 1 and 2)
The Wedding Planner
Monster-in-Law
You've Got Mail

Groundhog Day has a nice romantic thread running through it without being a romantic comedy. And it's a terrifically funny movie with a good message. (It was literally recommended in person to my mother by a prominent rabbi/therapist/author.)

YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The most quotable movie ever written!!!!!!

My sisters tease me that I'm a guy because I'd rather watch Pacific Rim (giant robots punching giant monsters!!!) or Lord of the Rings (epic battles of good and evil!! ELVES!!!) over The Notebook or While You Were Sleeping.

Romantic movies give me second-hand embarrassment.

I am the like the 12 year old-ish grandson in the movie -- "Are they kissing again? Do we have to read the kissing parts?"

But this! movie! just makes me all warm and melty and *chin on hands, happy sigh*

slightly ot... but I work in a theater and cary elwes was promoting his book "as you wish" so he came, we watched the movie then he did a q&a --- first time in my life that I'd seen ppl quoting along with a movie... a theater that sits 2800 and was almost sold out.. and nearly everyone was speaking the lines right on point! AWESOME!
