Does anyone know which doctor or pa would be willing to give me a referral? I've heard that some doctors will give a hard time about this. Thanks!

PA Wiener gave us a referral for OT evaluation.

They made it much harder to get for speech, especially if its for language because the insurance company is getting upset with them.

I don't know why many people think so, but you DO NOT need a referral for Early Intervention. You can just call up and ask for an evaluation. IF the child is 3 or above, then it's a problem.

My son is 4 & 1/2 so it's harder now and I only have Jersey Care so I need to get a referral just for the evaluation itself.

As far as I know, there aren't any doctors in his practice giving prescriptions for language therapy. They give for articulation only. My friend switched one particular child to a different practice so that she could get him therapy.

I had this issue. They did not want to give my son referral. I took him to childrens specialized hospital in Toms river for developmental evaluation and they now give me whatever referrals I need.
