1. If you haven't rebooted (shut down and restarted) your phone in a while, do that.
2. Uninstall any apps that you don't use, then any apps that you use but could do without by using the mobile website instead. You may have a lot of apps running in the background, consuming a lot of resources, without even knowing it.
3. If that doesn't fix it, a backup of your stuff followed by a reset, then reinstalling only the things you use.
