Chicken is usually my easiest as all I do is slice an onion, place chicken thighs, spice and rub, and add a can of cranberry if I feel like it (bake covered for 2-3 hours).

I hate peeling butternut squash Smile

You can buy it peeled and cubed in brooklyn, so even easier!

Slice onions. Cube potatoes and sweet potatoes. Put chicken parts on top. Spice and bake. Easiest one pan meal.

I usually make shabbos in an hour (not the cleaning part!!!). Buy challah, dessert, hummus, salad makings, deli, liver if I'm being fancy.

1. Cholent: barley (checked), spices, potatoes, marrow bones, button mushrooms in a net bag. Sometimes a couple of washed eggs, can of chickpeas (bag too for the Beans Are The Devil members of the family), leftover sauce/gravy, chicken (bag) or meat, leftover potato kugel.

2. Near East tabouli from the box - add hot water

3. Chicken - bone in or cutlets: splash each balsamic vinegar, soy sauce, ketchup, dollop duck sauce, spices. broil or bake, covered or uncovered, YUM.

4. Halve acorn squash. shake on cinnamon. Either drizzle with maple syrup or cover in chunked apple. Wrap WELL, put in 9x13, bake two hours. courtesy of my mil.

5. Mix bag winter mix (cauliflower+broccoli) or just broccoli, 2-3 eggs, salt/pepper, splash oil, and grate a large potato over all. mix well, bake uncovered 2 hours. HEAVEN ON EARTH. courtesy of Janice Horowitz via my mil. Takes five mins one handed and is HEAVEN. Sprinkle with cornflake crumbs if you're a heathen. Does NOT look good but - heaven, remember?

6. DIPS: mayo + hot sauce + sesame oil = spicy mayo. courtesy of my bil.
Also: mix mayo + sliced olives (jar) + hot pepper flakes.
You can also slice across a head of garlic, pour on some EVOO, wrap and bake for two hours, squeeze out roasted cloves and mix with mayo - big hit with the guys but I can't stomach it.

7. Carrot slaw - best with grated carrots buy yeah right, let's be honest here and admit I'm buying Dole pre-shredded by the bag... add mayo, lemon juice, pepper, and sugar. Yerushalmi. courtesy of my gil (grandmother in law)

I also used to toast chickpeas from the can a la Sina Mizrahi (oil, chickpeas drained from can plus spices). Mmmmm.

a large pot with rice and salt on the bottom, covered with water, then a layer of sliced carrots, then kishuim(marrow, squash) and lay chicken on top. A bit of sauce from a jar. Put in the oven for about 1.5 hours.

There is an easy way to peel Butternut squash. Microwave it for 30 to 60 seconds depending on your microwave. Let it cool enough to handle and peel with a potato peeler. It works like a charm.
