Fastest way to sign up for wic?

I'm 7 months and haven't signed up yet because I didn't want to start pulling out checks in the grocery store embarrassed

but now that I'm legit showing for the past 2 months I feel more comfortable with the idea. plus it would be a help so I want to get it processed asap and not have a month's waiting time or something. is there someone in brooklyn who does it? (mrs schwartz doesn't) or does the regular local wic office process in a timely manner?

The wic office usually does it same day. All you need to do is bring in the filled out form from your doctor. You can call your local wic office in advance as to whether you need to make an appointment, but they told me to just walk in.

Same as above poster. The wic office does it on the spot. If you have all the paperwork, you walk out with checks. My local office also said to just walk in, but you might want to confirm. Also confirm what papers you need. From my memory: medical form from your OB, ID, proof of address (utility bill, etc), and proof of income (if you're on Medicaid, just the card should be enough).
