What should I buy? Looking for excellent quality pictures, ease of use, long-lasting, and decently priced. In that order.

Canon Elph, previous model will be on sale ("decently priced") for Chanukah. Great pictures, easy to use, durable, yep.

I also like the canons but would not call them durable. Lucky if it lasts over a year, two max!

My sis just got the rebel t6s for 850?? In b&h t3s is also good. But this is professional type. Nikon and canon are good but canon Customer service is terrible unless you have an extended warranty through amazons canopy or b&h their extended warranty. Its always good to look at reviews on Amazon.

Which Canon did you have? They do have a cheaper line that's less strong (in the past it was the "A" series, not sure if that's still a thing) but I have friends who have had Elphs for years. I have had my S95 for almost 6 years now - I do take good care of it, but it also spends a lot of time around family.
I did buy an extended warranty but we're long past that now, I still recommend doing that, though.
