I've got an onion and some garlic cloves chopped and sautéing in my crockpot. I have cubed meat and will probably cube some potatoes and sweet potatoes and perhaps some baby carrots to use as the main and side. How would you flavor this? I tried a recipe from here that included beer and I wasn't a fan.
Would love to hear your best crockpot stew recipes! Thanks!

Sounds so good! Too bad I'm missing half the ingredients
Would you sub the butter with oil, or would only margerine work?

Toss the meat cubes with 1/4 flour before adding to the crock. Add bay leaf, 2-3 teaspoons salt (depending on size of stew), paprika, potatoes, carrots, and 1 1/2 cups water.

I just would add celery and frozen peas and s small amount of barley as well. ( in addition to everything you mentioned) Season with:
Salt
Pepper
Paprika
Squirts of ketchup
Squirt of honey
And water to cover all ingredients
We just had this yesterday for dinner. It's perfect for a cold day
