I'm looking to buy a new carriage. I would like one that has a bassinet for a newborn, so it can sleep comfortably and then have a seat for when they are older. What are some good quality durable brands out there? There are so many! Anyone have personal experience with any that they like a lot?

U mean that the actual seat can be used for either seat or bassinet?

Uppa baby vista and Bugaboo are supposed to be very good.

I have a bugaboo and I really dislike it. I don't know why everyone has it. (I only have it because someone gave it to me used.)

I have the Britax B-Ready with the Affinity bassinet. While I love how it looks and how it pushes it does have a few cons as well:

1) It is very heavy to lift up stairs and into a car trunk

2) When used as a double the child in the bottom seat will explore the contents of the basket, often emptying it out.

3) It only folds with the seat facing forward.

4) It's a pretty wide stroller. It's almost as wide as a Mountain Buggy Duet.

Is there a large baby store in your area where you can try out a few strollers to see how they feel? Almost any decent stroller brand will have a good warranty and will service your stroller if you have a problem.

Thank you so much for all your responses.
I mean that the frame can have an insert for either a bassinet or a seat.
Are there any more strollers out there that have that besides for the uppa baby or bugaboo?
Thank you

There are a lot of options! There's the Mutsy, City Select, Mima, plus a lot of strollers that are actually affordable Smile

I have the mutsy Evo. I love the look and it's very easy to wheel. The bassinet is higher than the bugaboo, which is a big pro. I have it only for two months so don't know how it holds up after long term use

I love my uppababy vista. The bassinet is approved for overnight sleeping, too, so I bought the bassinet stand and used it as my daughter's bed for the first 7 months. I also have the uppababy gluxe umbrella stroller and love that accessories, such as the footmuff, are interchangeable between the two.

Thank you all for your responses! I like that the uppababy is certified for overnight sleeping as it would make it easier for travel... are any of the other bassinets also for overnight sleeping?
Also I see there are 2 different bassinet options for the city select- which one do you have and what's the practical difference?

Thank you!

Britax Affinity bassinet is approved for overnight use. I would leave my stroller at the entranceway and bring the bassinet upstairs with my sleeping baby. I used it instead of a crib for the first six months.

The bugaboo bassinet is also certified for overnight sleeping, and they sell a stand you can put it on so it becomes like a bassinet
