I know that clifton and passaic send to the same schools and are one community but I am wondering the difference between the two areas, the crowd, the housing prices and size and the general niceness of the area. is one area nicer, newer houses more suburban than the other.

depends on the area of clifton/ passaic but in general the houses in Clifton are smaller and newer. It's more suburban in Clifton. The taxes are higher in Passaic. Passaic is more yesheivish but again this is all generalizations. There are more shuls in Passaic since it's easier to get zoning for them. The shuls in Clifton have more of an issue.

A LOT. In general a lot of people are moving to Clifton and Passaic. Get a copy of the eiruv map and that will tell you where the frum people live. It's not like where I live now that the eiruv is actually bigger then the frum community. Some parts of Clifton are probably more populated with frum people then other though. If you call any realtor they would be more then happy to tell you more info

Clifton tends to be the younger more "flatbushy" crowd, passaic is older crowd but really quite mixed....clifton property taxes are lower.
