I am looking to buy a Down comforter, after many years of using the cheap comforters from stores like k-mart and target. When I went online, I discovered that many of the comforters advertised are "alternative" as opposed to the real Down. Money IS an object, so I need to know if any of you have the Alternative comforter and are happy with it? I don't think I am allergic to Down, however like I mentioned earlier, money IS an object so if there are any Quality Down Alternatives that you are happy with, please let me know the brand name and where you purchased it.
Also if you remember what you paid, that would be great too!
TIA for your responses.

I was also nervous about buying alternative down but it was the best purchase I made! I bought the ones sold at Closeout Connection in Lakewood. They're expensive (for me) at $50 each so I started with a few and whenever I have a few extra $$ I buy some more for the rest of the beds. They are plush, delecious, and warm. My kids love them!

I'm thrilled with them! Bought mine at TJ Max for $50 and then for the kids at IKEA, they have different levels and each is a different price. I purchased the kids ones for about $20 since I wasn't sure how they'd hold up. So far so good. I found the real down settled in the wrong places over the yrs. The feathers didn't distribute properly and left some parts lumpy and other parts completely flat

Yes my kids have the IKEA ones, they're great! Fluffy and warm. They have a few different prices depending on how heavy you like your blanket. I first bought their $70 one but found it too heavy, we exchanged it for their middle price one - around $30-$40, don't remember exact price.

Love my down alternative comforters. They come at all different price points. I usually spend about $30 on each once
