Hey everyone!
We want to name our child if it's a girl after a beloved relative, whose name was Sarah. However, Neither my husband nor I are crazy about that name. Her Jewish name would definitely be Sarah, but I don't think we would call her that...
Any ideas on variations?

Are you looking for a nickname? Suri, Sorele, Serka, Sally, Sadie
Or are you looking for other "S" names? Similar sound or meaning? English or Hebrew? Maybe "Malka" for a similar meaning. Personally, I love "Serach" but fear it would be constantly misspelled/mispronounced.
In English, "Sara" (first 'a' sound as in "pants") is pronounced slightly differently from "Sarah" (first 'a' is long as in "ate"). Would that help?

OP here.
Not necessarily looking for a nickname... Although maybe if we call her Sarah we don't have to actually CALL her Sarah every day...
I guess I'm looking for 2 options. Either nicknames for Sarah or similar sounding or meaning names for Sarah
Thanks!

What about Sarena?
It's my favorite name but we have a living Sarah in our family and I was told the names are too similar.

I LOVE the name Sarit.
Also love the nickname Sari (can rhyme with dolly or dairy, however you want to pronounce it)

My daughter's middle name is Sarah.
Have you considered alternate meanings? I believe Sarah is a name of malchus or rulership, so some other options may be Malka, Atara, Henriette, Etta...
