What do you think of this? Now Sears and Kohls are following suit. I think it's childish and passive aggressive.

I think its neither childish, nor passive aggressive. Its business.

It's not going to help them financially. Boycotts don't work; if anything they'll take a greater financial hit from people now mad about it who will be boycotting them.

No it's not. It's pure politics.

This. At the end of the day, businesses are looking at the bottom line. What will get them more money?

Nordstroms cited plunging sales as the reason for not stocking her products anymore. Whether or not that's true, it obviously worthwhile for them financially not to stock her merchandise anymore. Why should they?

Businesses make decisions like this every day.

Look at the timing. They used sales as an excuse. I don't buy it at all.

It makes sense that sales would be dropping with #grabyourwallet.

But before they were being boycotted by other people. Apparently they decided that business from those people would be more financially worthwhile than those who would be boycotting over the pulled line.

If it doesn't prove to be a profitable decision, they'll restock the line.

It's all about profit, and any principles they may have adapted are for bottom line reasons. Call me cynical, but I think that even if the CEO may have personal principles s/he'd like to implement, when you're responsible for answering all your shareholders, profit is all that matters at the end of the day.

Businesses make poor decisions all the time, for various reasons. We'll have to see how this plays out.

Well, Ms. Trump claimed that she was divesting from all of these business interests:

http://www.cnn.com/2017/01/11/.....rump/

So it is unclear why the President thinks that his daughter was being treated "unfairly," why he is using his POTUS account to promote the line, or why its being shilled by the likes of Kellyanne Conway.

Unless, of course, she still holds the interests, notwithstanding her husband's White House role, and her statements promising divestment.

In any case, businesses do what they think is in their best interests, fiscally and politically. I hardly think that removing a line of clothing that was humorously (and accurately) described as "Baby's First Interview Clothes" is going to hurt the bottom line at Nordstrom or Newman Marcus. But we'll see. Maybe Melania should start wearing them to tout the line.

You mean all these people yelling bigotry and racism are punishing a woman for her uncontrollable circumstance- her birth father? Shocking.

Nope. For her own words and actions supporting her father.

The left is blatantly unfair and disgusting. When she went to the gym to work out, the gym owner thinks she is fair game to humiliate her. Imamother thinks it is ok to dissect her religious beliefs. It is ok to yell at her on the plane when she is traveling with her children. She deserves a modicum of privacy.

To target her line because of her father's politics is childish.

BTW, does anyone have any idea what the left hopes to accomplish with their tantrums? Trump is not stepping down.
