The title says it all really. We just bought our son new (and very expensive) first shoes. This morning I could only find one but he keeps moving them around and messing with them so I wasn't concerned and now when I emptied the washing machine I found the missing shoe. He threw up last night and I put all the gross stuff in the machine and somehow the shoe must have been there too. And I put on a long wash to really clean all the gross throw up laundry. Have I ruined his shoe? Is there anything I can do to save it? (I stuffed it with newspaper to dry it and help it keep its shape). Any good stories to make me feel less dumb?

What kind of shoe is it?
How does it look now? It might be okay...
As far as stories to make you feel less dumb, I promise you I have a bunch, even if I can't think of anything specific right now because I'm half asleep. I promise you it happens...

Been there done that and it came out fine.
The only thing that didn't come out fine in my experience is the kids cappels. They shrink in the wash. The lining does and then it looks funny. Shoes have been fine.

Yay! Thanks! It looks OK, but now its a different color than the other one. Maybe when it dries it will be a more normal color.

Did you pay with a credit card that offers purchase protection?
