Where do I go? I have bought most of my shaitels at sales ... haven't bought in a while. where can I walk in and get help in choosing something nice and get a great cut? I don't even know what I want ...just something with great hair that will last for a while... need someone who can cut well and don't really want to spend more than $1000. Suggestions are really appreciated!!!!

I got a Bella along with a few of my friends from Shifra Bak about 1 1/2 years ago.
They were about 1000 - 1200. (price depended on length)
We are still very happy with the sheitels - and she does a really nice cut.
You make an appt - when I went she was busy with other customers but picked out pieces for me try on and had a pretty good idea of what to give me.

I lucked out a year ago and bought an almost-brand-new Rosemarie from someone at less than half the price, for $1000. I had it checked by my sheitel macher and recut, and I'm very happy with it.

Before that I was considering the Irene, but I've heard they really don't last more than 2-3 years.

I'm hearing good things about the Bella. What about an Elisheva? Wonder if she has your price range.

Do sheitels in the 1000 range last more than 2-3 years? I was under the impression that most do not. Most 2000-3000 sheitels even need work by 5 years.

that makes sense... no wonder why my 6.5 yr old wig looks like a mop! I bought it at a sale for $600!

Thank you for the Bella recommendation.

Chayalle, I heard that wigs by Elisheva are in the $3000 range.

btw I did hear the bella wigs are dry hair. not something you want to wear in humidity. and its coming from a sheitel macher in lakewood. she also said its very good if you want to use it for curly mostly. so I guess for curls its good. if thats what you want.

My sheitel (a Kiki) was 10 years old and was finally really dying when I got my new sheitel last year. I paid $1600 for it (but would probably be more like 2500 today.)

These prices are insane!!!!!!!!

I thought the Elisheva was supposed to be for less, geared to help people afford a quality wig. Oh well. Dunno why I thought that.

I paid 950 for my shaitel that's almost five years old. It looks perfect but can just use a dye job.
I paid 1050 for my Bella that's almost three years old and it looks brand new as well. I just rooted it because it did oxidize after two and a half years.

My $1400 sheitel is 4 years old and looking beautiful, I get compliments all the time. My sheitels were all less than $1500 and all lasted at least 5 years.

yeah, my bella is very full and wavy. It did oxidize and by 2 years I'll probably have to dye it.

(I also got a Mazali at a sale for under $500 I wore for at least 4 years, I thought it was just "mazal". My 2000+ Kiki needed major work at about 5/6 years. )

A 16" lob style was $1500, including cut, highlights if desired, and baby hair. It was her Genesis (better) line.
