Go check out the "Modern Family" thread.

There are a million boy costumes out there. Why davka a female one?

My brother was at age 10. My mother made him wear normal pants and sneakers under the dress.
Is that what he wants?

I would for a 2-3 year old. After that I would find a more boyish costume.

Is that what the kid wants? Or is that what you want? Because if you want it, I would think that you may have issues.

If he really wants then let him wear it the first night and by day something else.

If the boy CAME UP WITH THE IDEA HIMSELF and 100% wanted to, I'd be okay with it.

If the idea came from you and you're pressuring him into it (this includes dressing up a boy who is too young to have a choice as to what you dress him in), then absolutely NOT.

--

And this is only because you're suggesting something "innocent" like a bride. If a boy chooses to dress in non-s-xualized drag (like a bride or mommy, or wearing a bonnet and hoop skirt or something), I'm okay with it.

I feel much more uneasy when boys dress up as female cheerleaders (hey, they can technically show more bare leg than frum girls can) or something like that. A non-frum male cousin of mine once wore a red sequined dress and high heels for Purim, and I did my best to act neutral and polite and not visibly uncomfortable.
