Onion roll

I have 2 different questions on a specific onion roll recipe from the bais yaakov cookbook. First, if anyone had made it before, can you tell me if it rose after 1 1/2 hrs? When I made them, they didn't rise at all. Also, is there a way for me to make the dough and then freeze without baking them? If yes, do I freeze before or after letting it rise?

I know that this is totally not what you're asking, but I just made the most delicious onion rolls. Roll out a piece of dough the size of a pita. Cover with finely diced onions an some olive oil. Sprinkle some salt then roll it up. Bake as normal.
The recipe I use is very similar to the one from Rebbetzin Kanievski's.

I have not made them in a while, but if I remember correctly the dough definitely rose. I never froze them before, but I dont see why you cant freeze it before letting it rise.
