La La Land will survive - they won six awards, they're raking it in, and got international acclaim. Jordan Horowitz handled it masterfully.

I've yet to see the one conspiracy theory I'd actually believe: that Beatty tried to tip the award to fellow NU alum Horowitz. He might have mellowed over the years, but in the past, Beatty was ferociously loyal.

The NU mafia is a surprisingly big thing in Hollywood -- almost 70 percent of U.S. film/TV productions involve at least one NU alum at the highest levels of production execs/staff. Beatty used to leave the vaunted Vanity Fair after-party to host the NU after-party at his home.

As you say, La La Land will survive. NU Twitter is wearing itself out patting Horowitz on the back for handling the situation with class.
