My 14-year-old eighth grader is looking for a job in a home-based playgroup/daycamp for half a summer (either half). She is mature and responsible, but introverted and doesn't want to work in one of the huge day camps. She adores little children.
Does anyone know of something? Can you pm me? Thanks.

Check all local advertisements. The home-based daycamps tend to advertise a little later in the season than all the big daycamps - more like closer to and even after Pesach. (I wish the big daycamps would wait till after Pesach as well. Taking DD for daycamp interviews smack in the middle of mid-terms was a bit nuts....)

Which half of the summer is a girl her age more likely to find a job?
She would like to make plans for the other half, but she is afraid of being left with no job prospects.

It's hard to say. Sleepaway camps tend to be more crowded first half - which would indicate that there are more jobs available first half. OTOH second half is Bein Hazmanim when alot of families go away, so there are jobs for those who want them second half.

Would your daughter consider working in a camp that's geared to young children? My DD worked at Camp Yeladim when she was younger - it's Camp Shemesh now - and Tzipra Egert is lovely to work for, and the atmosphere is much more relaxed and geared to young children.

Quite possibly. Does she have openings for a girl my daughter's age? Can you pm me the number we should call?
I really appreciate your help!

Tzipra Egert is probably listed in the phone book. I already threw out last week's local papers so don't have the number handy.
