This is chit chat because it not emergency or advice.

I got a driving license a little ago. I been driving great. Today I got a hit in the Target parking lot. I used to be scared my dh get angry, but we're doing therapy and I was grown mature and just told him and it was ok!

So my therapist helped me to understand I'm a grown woman to just say it!

So when did you know you're grown up for real?

When a mouse ran between my feet in 1st trimester of pg, and I calmly handled the situation.

I have my days.
Some days I feel like I've got it, I'm a big strong woman.
Some days I feel like a helpless scatterbrained confused clueless child 😃

Whenever I voice an opinion and it's taken seriously.
When I drink coffee.
When I handle a tantrum without getting upset at the kid or myself. ...

I'm getting there. Pretty soon my inner child will be of legal drinking age.

Cheers Cheers

On a more serious note, I began to feel like an adult when I stopped DEMANDING that LIFE should MAKE SENSE, and expecting to figure out all the ANSWERS before I could appreciate life.

When I realized I couldn't depend on anyone else to take care of me but myself. I didn't like it, much.

When I had my second baby. At some point when she was a few months old I realized that I really could do this. I could be a mom to her.

When I signed up to imamother. Hence my username.

I came across imamother when looking for a recipe and, like a good girl, I waited until I got married to signup.

When I lost my virginity as a young adult after a long, thought out process. I never knew I could make the decision and take responsibility for it after.

Nothing except that kids aren't supposed to drink it. Kids are supposed to drink milk. When I was a child I was told coffee stunts your growth. This may have been a bubbemeiseh, but in fact coffee does leach calcium from the body and contribute to osteopenia and osteoporosis. So while it might not make you stop growing before your time, it will leave you with weaker bones if you drink a lot of coffee during your growing years. Bubbe wasn't so hopelessly ignorant after all.
