Ouch! The link below has a phone number for the veterinary service - if they can't help you maybe they can send you to someplace that can.

You probably need to see a doctor.

What about a trap

Many companies do exterminations. try Ahavat Shalom on 072-3105040, he is a Frum person and does a great job besides being very cheap

Update pls, as here in EY its a known plague

I had a rat once and I caught it with a cage-type trap. Found the hole where it came from and sealed it.

How HORRIBLE that it bit you!!! So sorry!!!

Please see a doctor. You may (or may not) need rabies shots, but you need to get this looked at. NOW.

And call an exterminator. No way I'd recommend trying to catch a rat that bit you. If you rent, the landlord should pay. But worry about that later.

If the rat is caught and tested, you might be able to avoid the rabies shots.

I'm so sorry OP.

(had bats in my house twice...like flying rats. B"H both were caught and tested, no rabies.)

OmhkbH. Dealing with mice here, can't fathom rats...
Do you think these ultrasonic thingies work to repel?

I thought there was no rodent problem in israel due to the proliferation of cats.

I have two friends that have had a rat problem in Israel. We have lots of cats around us but that doesn't seem to stop the rats.

In what way might they be harmful? Curious because we've used them.
