I want to buy new bathing suits for everyone and I'm realizing I'm not sure what to put my 2 year old in.
I wear one of the two piece modest suits (zip up front, skirt over leggings, etc). My husband and son wear the board shorts and swim shirts. The places I can buy my suits from don't have options small enough for her and I definitely don't think she'll appreciate a suit from the boys section. Obviously the options from the local department store are not acceptable. I would like her to have something made to swim in rather than a shirt and shorts or something.

Ideas?

The shirts aren't the problem, I can find those. I'm struggling to find bottoms. I'm okay with her being in shorts for now but they all seem sooo short.

These look really cute - long shorts made of the same material as sun shirts.

What's wrong with a regular bathing suit?

I was thinking the same thing. 2 year old is a baby!!! I can't imagine there are tznius issues for any cultural group for a baby that age

If I wouldn't let her wear it at 13, I don't want to start now and just have to switch later. Of course I'm way more lax now, short sleeves and shorts are fine, but I don't want to put her in a one-piece.

Besides, even a toddler shouldn't have to worry about tugging at a swimsuit. If she's in shorts and a swim shirt (like her brother) she can focus on swimming and playing and not an uncomfortable swim suit.

I think your logic is flawed, but to answer your question. Why don't you buy her a tankini which is more comfortable then a one piece and then put her swim shorts and a rash guard on top?

Let's try to respect other communities. Obviously she doesn't want her to wear a bathing suit.

I love the uv skinz rash guard sets from Costco. If you're not a member they're sold elsewhere as well but I received one as a gift for my baby's first summer and after that I just got friends who are members to pick one up for me whenever they got small.

Ugh don't let people get you feeling bad about your decision. There's nothing wrong with swim shorts and a swim shirt. No suggestions on where to get the suit, but hope you guys have fun at the beach! Smile
