I do my all year round version. Brown meat in oil. Add spices and sauteed onions. Layer mashed potatoes and meat mixture and bake;)

Thanks. How do you make the mashed potatoes? Any ingredients other than potatoes?

And do I bake it covered or uncovered and for how long?

I like to add an egg and some salt to the potatoes. Rub some olive oil on top for a nice crust. Fried onions are good, but then my kids won't touch. Paprika on top ads a nice color.
I bake it uncovered.
