Hi!
Would like to pursue a bachelors. Have one year worth of credits from Sem under my belt.
Can I get the rest via Clep? what type of degree do I need if I eventually want to major in education?
If you have experience please chime in. "Mature student" here- been out of the school system for many many years and could use the guidance...
Thanks!

You'll need a masters in Education for most jobs in the education field.

Nope, no way you can get the rest via just CLEP exams.

can I do Clep and correspondence? How many Clep tests can I take maximum? What's the cheapest way to get the bachelors?
Probably don't qualify for scholarships. Best if I can pay per test...
Do I need a BA or BS if I will pursue a masters in education?

If you are in NY and want to get an online degree, check out what CUNY has. They should not be expensive and they accept CLEPs. I'm not sure how sem credits work, though.

I got my bachelor's degree through Empire State College. It's part of the SUNY system. My goal was nursing but I needed a bachelor's first to get into an accelerated nursing program. It took me 2 years total to finish the bachelor's, I did a combination of CLEP, online courses and credit by exam. They did not accept sem credits per se but I was able to use them to demonstrate that I had knowlege/expertise in certain areas and they gave me credit for that.

I don't think TTI is online. You need to take the tests. Try searching for TTI - there should be some threads about it. It is probably the fastest way if it works out for you. It's a lot of CLEPing. I also saw these:
https://naalehcollege.com
http://theyiep.com
I got my associates through Touro Online:
http://www.tuw.edu
And I saw Sarah Schneider advertise that they have an online program now.
I also remember seeing an ad for something called DAAS? No idea where to find it online, though.
Good luck!

Be aware that CLEPs and the like may not prepare you adequately for graduate school... You need to be able to write research papers, give presentations, and other assignments. CLEPing one or two classes to finish up is a lot different than trying to do all or a majority of your classes that way.

Just saw this...you should be able to finish through TTI! They have testing locations all over the country.
Phone number from their website: 1-877-RING-TTI (1-877-746-4884)
