My 6 year old has been complaining, (or sometimes not complaining, but I'm noticing) that his eyes are bothering him. More at the end of the day, but on a fairly regular basis. He's rubbing them a lot and says he feels like he needs to close them or blink a lot. I have an appt. coming up, but until then what could be the source?

he may need glasses, and his eyes are bothering him from all the straining.
also, seasonal allergies can do this.
is your appt with a pediatrician or with an eye dr?

He might be in discomfort from dryness... my daughter has this issue now as well. I use OTC lubricant eye drops. It can't hurt to use it until you see your doctor.

Just went through this with 2 of my kids. It was allergies. But they also were positive for strep donwe didn't realize it was allergies.

My son had this as well and it was allergies. The eye dr. Gave him eye drops to use whenever he is uncomfortable.

my son started this wierd eye blinking that looked like a bad habit and it turned out to be blepharitis, inflammation of eyelids. needs daily cleaning of eyelashes with a special spray. if u look closely, do you see any crusting on eyelashes? its not very visible to the naked eye...
