I want to get my graduating 8th grader a watch
I'm willing to spend $75-$125
What would be the best bet for a long lasting watch
Which material/brand
Thanks so much for your input

Straps can be changed so longevity doesn't really matter. For high school you don't expect to get something for a lifetime. You probably want to get her something that is fashionable for the next four years - at least in my opinion. It's not a gold watch that is meant for a lifetime. :-) I have a big purple watch in high school.
Obviously metal is going to be longer lasting than leather. Ceramic is, I think, probably trendier than either metal or leather.

As an adult I smashed my ceramic beyond repair. I would hesitate to get that for a teen - unless she is an extremely docile homebody. I broke it once when I banged my hand into the side of the sink, and once when I took it off to take a shower and it cracked on the tile floor.
