It's not just a question of how long he remains president. Even as president, it's questionable how beneficial he actually is for Israel and the Jews.

1. He is seriously lowering the standing of the US internationally. Even if he does stand up for israel, he's doing it from a much weakened position.

2. From the point of view of Jewish history, we know that we are only temporary guests in any country we reside in. We've seen great empires come and go, and when they fall the Jews don't usually fare very well. I knew the US would fall apart eventually but didn't expect to see it happen in my lifetime or so rapidly. Destabilization of the country is never a good thing for Jews.

3. Even if Trump is not personally anti-semitic, he has unleashed a lot of hatefulness and divisiveness in the country. He has made it okay to say and do things that were not okay just a few months ago. So, again, even if he personally has no animus towards Jews he makes it easier for anti-Semites to spout their filth.

4. How deep, really, is his commitment to Israel? How high of a priority is it for him? We've seen with almost any position he holds that he's very malleable and can change on a whim. He completely changed his views on China after talking to Xi Jinpnig for 10 minutes. How steady of an ally will he be?

I didn't vote for him either. I suggest we also boycott his mother's fashion line. That will teach him a lesson. Doesn't he know he's got to give equal time when it comes to rolling his eyes? He cannot just roll his eyes at guests from the right, he must do the same for quests from the left. Just who does he think he is?
