My 3 year old is getting glasses and I'm looking for a doll with eyeglasses she can play with. Does such a thing exist?

I don't mean the eyeglasses for 18" dolls like American Girl. She is way too young for that.

Worst case scenario you can probably craft some to fit whichever doll she likes. Pipe cleaners or something. But I'd like to hope there's a product out there for you!

We stuck the American Girl doll glasses onto other dolls. Toys4U has the glasses for cheaper. Try those.

If it fits on smaller or pudgier little girl dolls I think this is my best option.

I saw a cabbage patch doll with glasses but for some reason these particular characters are double the price of the others on Amazon. Way beyond my budget.

There are tons of AG style knockoffs, but isn't a 3 year old too young for these types of dolls?

Just wanted to say that I think that's a fantastic idea. If I had a small child getting glasses, I would never have thought of something like getting her a doll. I probably would have looked for books about kids with glasses or something dull like that, but a doll is so much smarter!

a 3 year old can deal with a knockoff AG doll. I already had the Bitty Baby's at home and paid extra on Ebay for glasses that matched my son's... (don't ask what nutty parents can spend on!) My son was 2.

The mini Molly doll can probably be found cheaper on Amazon or in Barnes and Nobles with a coupon if your inclined to go in that direction.

My daughter got the Target AG knockoff when she was 3 and liked it a lot. We have a few of them but at least one comes with glasses.

My daughter got glasses in first grade, and I got her glasses for her existing dolls on e-bay.

My daughter got glasses at 8 months. She loved this book. http://glassesboardbook.com
I think I might even have an extra if you're interested. I also had a mini stuffed hello Kitty with cute pink glasses but I don't remember where I got that from.

How do you feel about build-a-bears? They have glasses on their site that fit on their bears =

This site has some suggestions from another parent who was also looking for glasses for dolls =

BTW, I found an instruction video on youtube on how to make glasses for dolls and stuffed animals.

You can also try this site, which has different size glasses for different size dolls' faces =

Good luck - if all else fails, maybe check with the store where you got your daughter's glasses, and see if they have any suggestions?

Doesn't the hair get tangled and disgusting? The way she throws her stuff around...

if your concern is the hair get a build a bear or find glasses to fit a hairless doll you already own

Thanks so much for these links! Build a bear might not be a bad idea because it might fit her baby dolls. I don't think she's ready for the AG style dolls, unless I can find one with manageable hair.

how does a doll with glasses help your child with glasses?

It's not very important, but I think she would enjoy having a doll like her, to normalize the new equipment for her.

I could help her practice taking it off and putting it away safely.

My son enjoyed having a doll with the glasses like him. At that age most of their friends aren't wearing glasses yet. It helps normalize it. My older child only got glasses a few years later.
