the recipe (I think two weeks ago?) looked amazing and easy so I'm trying it but whenever I try recipes in the magazine it never turns out as good as I thought it would. I think some of the steps don't always make sense to me. Like in this particular one 'simmer' and 'uncover pot' were in the same sentence (right?) doesn't simmer mean cover on low??
anyhow, anyone else try the recipe with good results??
I haven't tried that recipe, and I understand what you mean about a lot of them failing, but you can definitely simmer (boil/cook gently) with saucepan uncovered like when thickening a sauce.
