I thought that you'd be withered
and I'd be ugly.
I'd laugh in public
but cry alone.
You'd be unworthy,
pliable and easy.
Controlled and mighty,
I was the devil and the storm.
I didn't know
that I was beautiful and wanted,
but it meant nothing
in the end.
I didn't know
how warm rain falls,
how addicts crave a fix.
I didn't know I was
undisciplined and reckless,
the taste of jealousy,
the weakest of all traits.
I didn't know I'd cry in public,
laugh alone,
or
bleed this poem
to feel the contours
of your face.

Sure. I recently tried online dating and it was nothing like I thought it would be. So strange. I thought it would be ridiculous and full of losers, but then I met this guy and now trying to get over him but it's not so easy. I guess I really liked him. This whole experience was pretty much a complete surprise - never had this before.
