What is the going hourly rate (out of town, if that makes a difference) for a nanny/babysitter to care for 3 small children? We might ask for occasional chores to be done but primarily the job would just be caring for the children. Thanks in advance for any information.

Our babysitter gets paid $13 an hour, in Monsey. Two kids aged 11 and 5.

How out of town are you?
Are you looking for Jewish or non-Jewish?
I believe Jewish women charge more. $13 seems like a lot to me.
I live in a large OOT community far from NY with a large immigrant population. The going rate is $10-12 for full-time work for women mostly from the Latin America countries. If you want an English speaker, it costs more.
Thus, your location will matter greatly.
Good luck!

At least 15/hr in Bergen county. The high schoolers are at least 10 for date night babysitting.

I'm in a small, very out of town community. its near a midsize US city but not big Jewish community. There aren't many, if any, Jewish nannies available to hire, so I'll probably be hiring someone not Jewish from a site like care.com or similar.
