Wondering if anyone has created any apps. Do you have any specific advice you'd be willing to share?
I have a few ideas, but I don't do programming at all. I'm thinking of hiring people on freelancer.com to create the app. Am I missing or overlooking anything important?
I appreciate any advice at all, thank you.

I've never created an app, but...
Be sure there is a market for your app.
And make sure you have a clearly worded contract with whomever you hire that explains ownership and compensation etc.

one of my social media clients was a developer. He had plenty of people downloading his app and it was a really great app but he didn't make any money. There's a lot of overhead in that business. Make sure you're prepared to make no money for quite some time and stick with it before you see good results. He gave up before his work came to fruition and became an author instead. Amazingly he's published numerous books since then--- so I guess that's more his speed.

Interesting, I actually wouldn't expect an author to do that well, comparatively. Thank you TwinsMommy!

and make sure you have a good programmer
I am programmer (but I don't do app programming myself)
I have been approached about reprogramming a number of apps that were done poorly

Thank you! What types of questions are good to ask a prospective programmer?

to a non - programmer you would not be able to know - I would say go by recommendations from someone already using their app
