if anyone knows a patient at shaare zedek in jerusalem (hopefully in for happy reasons!), its possible 2 send an email 2 their bedside - ive used this service several times, its free and quick (within 24 hrs) and makes u feel a whole lot better if u live abroad and cant visit!!!

...put shaare zedek in search engine, when u get site look down lefthand side and click on "write 2 a patient"

I think thats a great idea. I wish it was implemented in hospitals worldwide.

speaking of happy occasions, on Shabbos, I was walking with my kids and saw an ambulance parked outside of a building (we live in a religious neighborhood- no cars on shabbos). My 3 yr old piped up, "Oy vey! Someone is sick and needs to go to the hospital on shabbos!" Then we saw a lady hobbling out of the building accompanied by her husbsand and family (all smiling Smile

) I still get chills when I think about it. I hope all went well!

but how do they recieve the email? where do you get a computer to check up on emails?

I guess an office staff member at hospital prints out the emails individually, and then delivers to appropriate rooms. however, this is just a guess.....
