So ds is 3 and a few months. He's been wearing tzitzis for awhile now. He is often pulling at the strings till they rip. So he's got strings with all different lengths, and some tzitzis one whole set is gone, all he has is a hole in the shirt corner, no strings. I used to keep buying new but it's gotten out of hand and the past few weeks I just let him wear the ripped ones, even though they're posul. Now dhnoticed and said it's better he wear no tzitzis than posul ones. I thought for chinuch let ds wear the posul ones. For me to suddenly start putting him on tzitzis in a year or so...by then he might think it's a choice...any one ever have this? What's the best thing to do here?

Tell him that tzitzis is a mitzvah so we have to treat it in a special way. If he rips the tzitzis then take hem off for the rest of the day.
Wearing them at this age is only for chinuch. He seems below Gil chinuch at this point.

There are some Tzitzit with a pocket for the strings.
This might help
Don't know if it's only Sephardic.
Don't know if it stays in the pocket.

Op here
He has the ones with the strings that go in the pockets. That lasts about a couple of hours and then they're out.
