I'm having a girl and want to name after my grandmother, Leah.
Although the sound of the name is beautiful, Leah's story in tanach and the meaning of the name (does it mean weary?) seem a little bleak and I would like to add a meaningful name that uplifts and gives a happier feel to my baby's name.
I'm considering Yakira, Ahava, Adi, Ora, Sara, Rina...we generally like Hebrew names, and I want to avoid names with 'ch.'
Please send suggestions!
ETA: I don't care if Leah is the first name or the second name. I just want the full name to be meaningful and sound pretty. She will probably be called just Leah.

My grandmother was a Leah, and her middle name was Devorah. Her English name was Leola Doris, and people called her "Lee".

I don't think the second name should start with a vowel. It will be hard to say them together.

This is true because somehow if it's too hard to say both, only one name ends up being used, sometimes.
If you add Rina, itll be easy to say like; LayRina. But to say Ahuva Leah or Leah Ahuva, will be more of a task because it doesn't blend well.

Are you putting Leah first or second?
Of the names you mentioned Yakira Leah and Ahava Leah both sound nice, but I don't like them the other way around. Leah Yakira and Leah Ahava sound awkward to me. Sara or Rina work if Leah is first or second name. I'm not hearing Adi or Ora with Leah.

I think she meant it's the other way around that they might not work so well. Leah Ahuva, or Leah Ahava. Not great.

Leah goes with EVERYTHING. it flows better as a middle name but can definitely be a first name.

Thanks all for the suggestions. I edited my post for clarity. Leah can be the second name and I would call the baby just Leah, but want her full Hebrew name to be happier.

I care about the meaning of her given hebrew name, whether she is called by it or not. It's the name given to her at birth, the name used when I pray for her, the name on her kesubah...the meaning matters to me.
