I'm pretty sure this means "man" in Aramaic -- like cheftza/gavra.

ETA: As an alternative, what about Gavriella? I know a couple, not a common name but not strange either.

I am not familiar with that name (MO, in the US). Is it related to Gavriel/Gavriella?

I know someone names Gevura, which I think is beautiful, but she chose it when she became frum and says she didn't realize it connotes the middah of din.
Gavriella is a good alternative, I know several.

In the yeshivish world, a gavra is a guy who is confident and capable, strong type- not a pushover. Used in shidduchim terminology.

Exactly-my husband uses that term to describe boys all the time. Never heard of it as a name-especially for a girl.

Please do not name a girl that name. It's like naming a girl "Guy"

agree with amother above, I feel like it also sounds like it means "manly" "masculine"like Gavri for a nickname.

Gavra means mighty but it also means, the worst, לִגבּוֹר

Please dont name your daughter Gavra
