What food is good to make for before the fast?
Being that it's super hot here, I'm worried about getting dehydrated as well as just not knowing what will make us full enough to last the extra day..
(newly married, this is our first BIG fast together..)
Thanks in advance!

So I usually up my intake of liquid from a few days before. Im making soup, fish prob salmon, with pasta or baby potatoes and sald before the fast. You need protein and carbs.
Also pineapple and raisins are great because they are full of sugar and they give loads of energy.

Lots of liquidy types of food, like soup, jello, watermelon, etc. Plain water is NOT good before the fast, because it washes out quickly. Add something to water so it gets absorbed in the body, to prevent dehydration. Lemonade, tea, etc

We're eating grapes and watermelon throughout the day. Dinner will be orange soup, eggs and pasta. Drink cold water all day long.

1 onion, chopped
3 cloves of garlic, smashed
2 stalks celery
1 butternut squash, peeled and cut in cubes
3 carrots, peeled and cut in cubes
1 piece of pumpkin, peeled and cut in cubes
2 medium zucchini, peeled and cut in cubes
2 sweet potatoes, peeled and cut in cubes
1 parsnip, peeled

In a large pot saute onion and garlic in a bit of oil until soft. Add all vegetables and water to cover. Add 2 tsp salt and 1/4 tsp white pepper. Bring to a boil, then simmer for 1 hour. Puree with immersion blender.

I was planning on serving pasta and cheese though someone just told me that cheese makes you thirsty so isn't a good idea. Is that true?

Cheese might make you thirsty because it's salty. Just make sure you drink a lot and you have some side dishes which are not salty so it's not the only thing you're eating (vegetables are good).
