While most of the frum families in Lakewood are away on vacation now, my family has to stay put due to my husband's business. We are able to schedule an extended weekend off of work in November, but are wondering what types of places would be nice vacation spots in the fall. We would want to stay over a Shabbos, so Kosher food/hotel would be necessary. We are a family of pre-teens and young children. Any ideas?

Is it thanksgiving time? A lot of attractions might be closed.

Would you fly somewhere?

No, it won't be Thanksgiving time. In the beginning of November. And no, we are not looking to fly somewhere. A few hour drive from Lakewood.

Thank you all for the suggestions. Does anyone know of a kosher hotel that would have Shabbos meals in the Washington DC area?

According to this, the Hilton can make such arrangements.

It's probably pricey.

There's also a congregation that hosts visitors for meals in Georgetown:

There is a hotel nearby.

If that's out of your budget range, why not rent an airbnb and get take-away meals and/or bring your own Shabbat food? That will significantly open up the range of locations.

There's no kosher hotels in the DC area. You could stay in a regular hotel and bring food, or call one of the kosher restaurants in the area to see if they offer take-out (Silver Spring is probably your best bet). If the hotel needs to be kosher, Arlington in NH is probably your best (only?) option.
