I am looking to relocate from Brooklyn. The prices that I see advertised for new construction homes are very reasonable. I am aware that the advertised price does not include the finished basement and everyone upgrades certain things. If you bought a new construction house recently how much did you pay in total and more specifically how much was the sale price and how much money did you put in to upgrade certain features.

My sister did this. She paid roughly 700k.

Duplex. Paid $539,000. Upgraded about $150,000. So total for the duplex was just under 700,000.
(Now the house itself before upgrades is worth $600,000. )
