I am going away with DH and the kids for a few days, and I want to surprise DH with a fun new game we can play together once the kids are asleep- he loves board games and card games and is always begging me to play, so I thought it could be a fun little surprise.
Any ideas for fun games for 2 people? We already have bananagrams, Uno, and the classics (scrabble, boggle, monopoly, etc).
TIA for any suggestions!

Settlers of Catan is a really fun strategy game if you haven't tried it yet. It says it's for 3-4 players but you can play it with two.

Rummikub is a classic, but I figured I'd mention it just in case you didn't have it...

There's that dating game (striking matches or something).
A game I saw that I would love to try is called Game of Phones (has anyone played it?).

Here is the list of what we have at home:
Ticket to ride
Perpetual commotion (only good when not nidda)
Splendor
Carcassonne
Qwirkle
Patchwork
Five crowns
And of course the basics...
I have played so many more in game places I am just getting stuck remembering the names

We love Set. And it's small so easy to transport.

Dominion is our go-to when we want something quick. My DH also really likes Inovation, although I'm slightly less fond of it. Race for the Galaxy is good as well.

Lost Cities is for 2 players and fun. You could probably even look up the rules online and make it work with cards from 1.25 regular card decks. But the board and game cards are def pretty and more exciting.
