Anyone heard of this? If the kid was evaluated and IEP done, will the DOE pay for the 2nd opinion evaluation?

A District is obligated to pay for an independent educational evaluation (IEE) for every evaluation that it does, if the parent is unhappy with the evaluation

Thanks. How does it work, practically? Does the parent have to object before the IEP meeting? Can do so after? There's a time frame? Amount limit? Do they reimburse or pay the evaluator? If it's an educational eval, does the tester have to be a psychologist or a special Ed professional with experience in evals is enough?
