Hi. Any ideas? Don't want an old restaurant but don't want to break the bank. Looking to spend around $40 per person.

Essen on Coney between J and K - I went to a nice Sheva Berachos there not too long ago, in a private room, and I assume it would be within your budget.

Mendy's in crown heights recently opened a Simcha room with a nicer menu. I never checked iout the pricing but may be worth a call. I have seen the room and it looks decent,

We have used Yunkee's Restaurant at 1426 Elm Ave. I think it's officially Chap A Nash's place.
I think it was $30/person. The food was good but I wasnt crazy over the place yet we use it again and again because its cheap and kah we make many simchos/sheva brachos in the family! 1 718-627-0072

see details at http://chapanoshofbrooklyn.com/chap-yunkee/

Also, BTW, they give choices. Two soups four mains

Spoons on Ave. J or Savor at Nostrand and P are both nice dairy options with private rooms.
