Please recommend your favorite brand of white whole wheat flour. The brand that I tried was so "grainy" it felt like eating sand paper.

I like the one from Trader Joe's ( no idea what brand it actually is)

Thanks. Do you mix it with white or use it completely in a recipe?

I use King Arthur, I don't mix it. Also, it's cheaper at Target than my local supermarket.

No need to mix. White whole wheat flour rises beautifully and makes a smoothly textured loaf (IME).

I use either trader Joe's or mishpacha. They r both great. I don't mix it and use it in everything. I barely use white flour in my house.

Grain Brain. I've been using it for years and no other brand has come close to comparison. It's sold in the frum supermarkets on the East Coast, not sure if it's available out of town.

You might also just not be a fan of white whole wheat. I know I was not. I found that I much prefer the taste and texture of spelt (which happens to be healthier but at the same time less healthy tasting).

Landaus Supermarket brand. They are located on 18th ave and 45th in Boro Park. Way less grainy than King Arthur. It says on the bag that is ground extra fine. Also good price. Usually 3.99 for a 5 lb bag. Many times on sale for 2.99.

Definitely King Arthur. It's the best of all the brands I've tried. It's also $3 for 5 lbs at Target which is cheaper than the other brands.

Depends. For challah, bread, pizza, muffins: no
For cookies: yes
