Yonatan or Yehonatan--both are correct-- is also a classic symbol of the ultimate best friend who has your back even when it's not in his own best interest. Yonatan Ben Shaul was the crown prince of Israel, the heir apparent to Shaul's throne until G-d transferred His favor to David. He was also David's best friend who defended him when Shaul was out to murder him. Not only was Yehonatan not jealous of David whom he could have seen as a usurper of his own rightful position, both as crown prince and as Shaul's erstwhile favorite, but antagonizing his mentally unstable father was also clearly not in his own best interests.
The Mishna cites the love of David and Yehonatan as the archetypal pure unconditionall love that is not "tluyah bedavar", as contrasted with a selfish love love which is "tluyah bedavar" such as the "love" of Amnon for the unfortunate Tamar.
Famous Yonatans off the top of my head: HaRav Yonatan Eybeschutz, 18th century Torah leader; Yonatan Netanyahu, Bibi's older brother, hero and martyr of the Entebbe rescue mission; and Rabbi Lord Jonathan Sacks, past Chief Rabbi of England.

On Nevi'im.
Targum Yonatan on the Torah is really Targum Yerushalmi, or pseudo-Jonathan.
It's a misnomer due to a printer's mistake.
Love the name (and the biblical character) BTW.
I have a DS who is Yonatan
