I often use a brush with oil instead so you get a little over a larger surface.

Bacon flavored salt, with an OU-D!

As a BT, I always appreciace kosher-bacon-flavored anything, but if it's dairy how on earth am I supposed to cook with it? What

I don't get the problem. You use it on dairy dishes. '

Then there was the discussion of the best way to make a kosher cheeseburger: Do you use fake cheese, fake meat, or both?

I ended up using it for split pea soup, for the "ham" flavor. Add a dash of BacoBits, and you're there!

I make tacos with fake meat and real cheese. I hate vegan cheese, it's never as good as the real thing. I make beef stroganoff with Tofutti parve "sour cream", though.

DH has never had treif before, so my cooking often confuses him! I've thought about making a cookbook of my recipes from "before", adapted to kosher rules.

I enjoy that as well. Tonight I made turkey pockets with a "cream cheese" sauce.

Maybe it's because I'm pregnant, but beer-flavored ice cream doesn't sound half-bad to me!

lol, pretty sure two separate flavors. I think they had chopped liver, too, can't imagine how they manage that, can't imagine why anyone would want to try it.

Dr. Brown's Cel-Ray soda is celery flavored, and AMAZING! I'm so sad I can't find it in Israel. It's 100x better than 7-Up.

The first time I saw all the kosher for pessach frozen products, I thought the grocer forgot to lock up and cover that freezer.
My parents are extremely strict & limited in what they use, and I did not even know these items existed (blintzes, macaroni, etc)
My first glimpse of garlic laden "Gala" was a shock too, for my eyes and nose!

My mother used to get these massive easter eggs and bunnies every year when she worked in a secular firm. The bosses gave them out as gifts to all the employees. Shhhh.... don't tell anyone, but they were delicious.

But my father used to take a hammer and break off chunks and store it that way. He said he didn't want anyone to come in and see the giant Easter bunny and think we're closet Christians or something! It was really, really yummy, as I recall (Yes, we ate OU-D when I was a kid) and in those days, you never could get something in a frum store that was a massive shape of milk chocolate. I mean, that bunny was easily the size of an American Girl Doll!

But there's something weird about a kosher Easter bunny and kosher Easter eggs.....
