Oy....we are making a simcha right after Sukkos. We are still waiting for 3/4 of the replies, maybe even more! We put a date to receive replies back before Sukkos. There's less than a week to go before that date, and it's making me crazy that we've received so few back!!! Why don't people sending them back?
Nothing y'all can do, but I just needed to vent a bit!!!!

Unfortunately it is very common. The reply cards often get lost or misplaced before they make it in the mailbox

I always make sure to reply one way or another.
If people don't reply to me, if they matter I'll ask if they come. If they don't, I count them as not coming and they won't have a place.

It's too late for this simcha, but maybe next time go with evites that remind guests if they haven't responded. This is a much easier way of keeping track, and has become acceptable even for weddings in most circles.
