What kind of recipes are you looking for? What type of dishes? Everyday dinners? Yom Tov/Shabbat? some of both? Super easy recipes or would you like to experiment with something new? Do you specifically want kosher cookbook recommendations?

The bais yaakov cookbook has great recipes for everyday and shabbos/yt. It's for sure my favorite. Other great ones are

what's cooking (several years old but really great!)
chic made simple,
Fresh and easy

There is a new cook book out called "Recipes Unplugged". I skimmed through it, and it looked really good. Basically simple, not complicated basic recipes, not requiring the use of ANY electrical appliances. I thought it might make a nice shower present for a kallah, who may not have all the gizmos and gadgets in the beginning of building her new home. You may want to look at it first.
Of course my all time favorite is the Bais Yaacov Cookbook. I have like 15 cookbooks so that is my favorite. I also love Elizabeth Kurtz's "Celebrate" cookbook all food for Shabbos, so no dairy stuff. Great for the those who love to entertain for Shabbos. Fresh and Easy is great as well.

Thanks for all the replies!

I prefer kosher since easier to use.

I also have the balebusta's choice 2 and yes it's great!

Which Silver platter is best?

My go-tos are Norene Gilletz' HEALTHY KITCHEN and STARTERS AND SIDES MADE EASY by Leah Schapira and Victoria Dwek. For salads, SALAD TIME by Rifky Katz. Also like SILVER PLATTER nd agree that RECIPES UNPLUGGED is great for kallah gift.

I have a little bit of a cookbook addiction.

I love the original silver platter (don't have hte second one yet0 as I like books with pictures and the recipes range from everyday to fancy, are healthy, a little different without requiring exotic ingredients

I also really like Jerusalem by Yotam Otolenghi and Sami Tamimi. It is not strictly kosher, but only 1-2 recipes are not usable (the one recipe with prawns) as the rest are kosher. The book is beautiful and a conversation starter when left out plus the food is great.

If you like more mediteranean cooking I like Rae Dayan's "For the Love of Cooking" It is not as visually spectacular as or extensive as Aroma's of Aleppo BUT the food comes out better.

For Ashkenaz cooking BY Cookbook is great as is Chich made Simple. Both have nice photos and fairly easy recipes however they use a decent amount of unhealthy ingredients in lots of the desserts - ie pareve whips.

Healthy/Fresh I like Fresh and Easy

and now a shout out to a book not many have - Hip Kosher. There are no photos and the book is a slim paperback. The recipes are awesome! Slight twists so the food is not what everyone else is serving, fresh ingredients, no extensive prep.

For pics or recipe index of the cookbooks I own you can check out my website. It might help you decide. But really I have so many pics I haven't uploaded yet!!!!

I myself am pondering which cookbook to get next. I have lots but there are always new ones out there and I read them like novels. over and over again.
