Hi! We just made a simcha this past Shabbos!

I put in the following in a pretty gift bag:

A bottle of Fiji water (I wanted a fancier bottle)
Gourmet peanut butter cups
Simply Balanced Fruit Gems
Veggie Sticks
Preztel Crisps
Ghirardelli Chocolates

Plus a schedule for the weekend.
I also wanted to put in a walking map for Shabbos, but I should have tried to do it earlier than Erev Shabbos....I got too frustrated with the computer and gave up! Smile

You're welcome!
I'm not really good at writing poems, but I did want to put in a Welcome letter. I just ran out of time because I spent so much time trying to get the map to work! In the end, it was just the schedule. Looked nice anyway!! I printed the schedule on pretty light blue paper, so it looked colorful.

Definitely a map.

Davening times and all relevant addresses with walking directions. Include local parks if there will be "down time" on Shabbat afternoon.

IME the map/itinerary is personalized for each guest, with the name and contact information of the host family, and location on the map. ETA: also eruv info, if applicable.

Personally, I would prefer people not include cute poems. The Imamother community is divided on the poem issue, and you will find that people have strong opinions on this topic. So do what you want.

Please do not put any food that is messy or can make crumbs. The people hosting your guests will not appreciate it. These baskets usually end up in the bedroom where the guests are sleeping.
