and kiddush cup and things you use every Shabbos, but for the poll I just want to hear candlesticks. I plead the fifth to my own question but I just got a cleaning lady and I will pass the task to her and wondering how often I should ask her to do it.

Not nearly often enough.
Before Rosh HaShana and before Pesach.

Anonymous because my silver is usually tarnished. LOL

Ideally I should be doing it every 3 weeks because that's when it needs it. But I wait more than 6 weeks. embarrassed

I wait till more than 6 weeks but it doesn't necessarily need to be done more often...

Only about 2-3 times a year embarrassed but it needs it much more often. Ideally, if I had the time or had cleaning help who could do it for me I would probably polish my candlesticks once every 6-8 weeks (that's roughly how long it looks ok after I polish it) and the kiddush cup I would do once a month. For some reason that seems to tarnish faster. Or maybe I just notice it more since it sits on the table.

I do it every 4-6 weeks or when it looks like it needs it. I hate polishing silver but I love the shininess when it's done.

Before kids - every week.
With a few kids, but a good amount of domestic help - once a month.
These days - 2x per year, before Pesach and the other time usually before RH. My silver does NOT look very good.

Before my 2nd was born, my husband polished it all the time--now I think it gets done once in a blue moon.

It is my DH's job. I try to not notice when it is not done and compliment when it is.
I think he does it once in 2-3 weeks. In the summer more often.

Where and for how much? How long has it been since you've lacquered it and what sort of upkeep is there?

I lacquered mine over 5 years ago and its still nice and shiny. Best thing I ever did.

you can take it to any silver store, I think it was about $100 or $150 with the tray.
